Smitty is one of the true leaders in our field who saves us from ‘paralysis by analysis’. He has taken decades of information and packaged it into an easily digestible system that flat out delivers! He is the mentor we all need. This book will save the beginner years of toil and frustration experimenting with overhyped gimmicks, while also providing an all encompassing strength and conditioning program that will add pain-free years to an athlete/lifter’s career. Everything is covered from strength work to recovery that can be modified on a continuum that meets the athlete where they currently sit. I devoured this book in just a couple days because I just couldn’t put it down. It’s certainly one of those top reads I’m going to keep close to my desk so I can always reference and look to as a compass, not only for myself, but my athletes.
