Why Be Different

Why Be Different?

You’re at work.

You close your eyes and just listen.

People are talking and moving around.

The longer you have your eyes closed the louder their voices get and all sounds start to amplify.

You open your eyes and everyone is moving in slow motion.

Are you different than these people?

You are the only one that trains in the office and you can’t help comparing yourself to them.

Why aren’t they training?  Why don’t they make training a priority in their life.

As Even-Esh says, “…the pussification of America…” is taking over.  You need to “get comfortable being uncomfortable”.

Forget the health benefits, the better movement, the strength, living longer…

How about just being a man

The feeling after a PR…

Being someone people can look up to…

Being someone who gives everything they have and then gives some more…

Don’t just follow others off the cliff, forge your own path and never look back.

Your job is not what defines you.

Your family, the happiness of your kids, your legacy, your strength, your kindness, your charity, your heart…

That is what being a man is about and that is why you should train.

Training reveals character.  It gives you the power to believe in yourself that you can do great things.

When everything in your life is going bad, you can find solace in the weightroom.

Never forget that.

And for those other people you were comparing yourself to earlier?

They’ll never get it…

…unless you show them.  One of the greatest gifts you can ever give is to get someone interested in training.  That is something they can have the rest of their life.

Why be different?

Because that can change your entire life.

Right on! I agree with Zach’s statement about America, and I agree with your post. I do work alot but I try to keep God, family, ‘legacy’ with my kids and also training as priorities. Dudes have to step up, or we will have the wimpiest nation ever, just waiting for some bums to come in and take it all from us. I’ve always thought that a quiet confidence from knowing how to shoot, how to fight, how to be strong, etc. goes a long way to keeping people from trying to run you over.
