Life is Hard

Life is Hard

Life is hard.

You couldn’t make the team.

You didn’t pass the test.

You lost the race.

You never get first.

You can’t find a job.

You can’t lose the weight.

You can’t get a girlfriend.

You’re too short.

You’re too tall.

You’re not smart enough.

You’re not good looking enough.

Your friends all have better “stuff” than you.

Your Dad is never around.

You can never get ahead.

You’re living paycheck to paycheck.

Your job sucks.

Your boss sucks.

Your commute sucks.

Your kids are more influenced by tv and their friends than you.

You’re not setting the example for the people who count on you.

You’ve given up.

You suck at everything.

now…

WHAT THE F*CK ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT.

I’m tired of hearing about what you can’t do, because there are people doing it with A LOT less than you.

I’m tired of hearing about what you don’t have, when you’re not willing to work hard to get it.

I’m tired of hearing about stuff that is too hard and you have given up.  Only the strong survive.  Be a man and get tough.

I’m tired of you not living up to your potential.  You’re great, and you can do great things.  It is time for you to realize that too.

Bring it! I think we all really need to hear this from time to time. I’m currently working two jobs, standard day job (40+ hrs) and PT job at night (20+ hrs) in pursuit of being a trainer that actually helps people. If I can do it, freakin’ anyone can!

Jim, you nailed me on this one. My life has pretty much sucked, in my opinion, for a while. The job, the boss, the commute, the “stuff”, the weight, the kids, and now my wife tells me I suck and she’s leaving me. But life sucks because I have let it get there. Life is a fight and most of the fight is throwing the jab and the 1-2 combo to wear down the enemy for the right opening to throw the haymaker. I’ve been cowering in the corner like a p***y when I should have been in the fight – even if it means taking a beating once in a while.

No more games, no more rationalization, no more being a p***y. Its way past time to be a man, and eventhough it might be too late to save the life I had, I am going to change because it is the right thing to do -TO BE A MAN!

Thanks for the slap in the face!!

Buddy, go get it bro. Never stop believing in yourself and never settle for less than “everything you’ve got”.

Nice one. Used to carry those thoughts around in my younger years, but due to a significant effort and self-discipline, plus some great coaching from other “personal development” gurus, I’ve been able to drop the victim mentality and keep the focus on kicking ass. Life still ain’t easy always, but things just seem to fall into place nowadays. I wish this message you shared could be instilled in every young person today… it’s much needed.

Remember that bit in Rocky “it’s not how hard you hit.. You gotta take the hits!” that’s how that post made me feel! Thank you 🙂

I love it! Talking to myself that way doesn’t do enough (probably my fault). Hearing it from someone else is great. My Dad wasn’t around, and Mom always felt too guilty, so I never had anyone to give me a good kick in the ass. Thank you.

people often don’t realise how good they’ve got it and the potential that they have to make improvements.I have a son who just finished highschool and i remember some of our happiest times together was when we were living in vermont in a tiny rooom that we shared (Inti was 6 or 7 at the time)….i was working a couple of jobs and there was literally times towards the end of the week when we’d have $5.00 to our name….and I’d say to my son ‘what do want for dinner….rice and avocado or potatoes and avocado?’….then if we had any money over we’d rent a $1.00 movie from the discount rack….and if we’d no cash left we’d go to the library and take out a Winnie-the-Pooh video….I’m telling you they were good times….simple times….we had just enough….and enough was enough.
