Your Very Best

Your Very Best

I am going to tell you the hard truth, and you’re not going to like it.

Many of you will not be successful.

Why?

Because when things get tough,

When people get tired,

If something isn’t easy — people quit.

Well, I’m here to tell you that…

Success is not a 4 hour work week.  Success is working your ass off every single day

I’m not talking 8-5, I’m talking about when other people are sleeping, you’re hustling.

When other people are complaining, you’re counting your blessings.

When other people are worrying about what other people have, you’re helping and giving to others.

When other people are talking bad or hating, you’re praising other people’s accomplishments and telling anyone who will listen about them.

Answer this?

Are you giving your very best?

No, I’m talking about your very best?

Bullshit!

I’m calling you out, because I think you can do better than what you’re doing now.

Imagine you’re in a stadium and all of your family and friends are in the stands.  Now tell them you are doing your best.  Did you look down when you said it, or did you look them all right in their eyes?

Listen…

Life is hard and I can’t guarantee you that it will get easier.  In fact, I bet it will get harder.

But I can guarantee it will change, if you change your perception and finally be honest with yourself.

I am sick and tired of you not living up to your potential and blaming others, pointing fingers and not working hard.

It is time for you to be great.

It is time for you to TAKE ACTION.

It is time to give your very best.

This was a great movie. The dad cried a little too much for my taste, but otherwise a really good movie.

It is true what you said. All my past successes come from hard work. I could I think that any future successes will be any different.

I have been struggling with a new direction I’m trying to go in my life/career. Literally minutes before I got your email I had convinced myself to pack it in because what I’ve been doing (or more accurately not doing) hasn’t worked. This was just the kick in the pants I needed to stop b!tching and complaining, but instead to get it back on track and moving. Thanks, Smitty!

its funny because sometimes I feel like I am giving my very best, but to think of it… sometimes I’m just at my best. If you workout hard and push yourself passed something you thought of as impossible YOU will know what your very best is. Now its time to transfer that emotion. thanks coach S!

WOW. Thanks, Smitty! Very motivating. Makes me really have a different perspective on just about anything in life. Training, diet, my Christian life, my work, and ANYTHING! We all would like to think that we’re great at what we do, but are we really? How do you think the very best athletes got where they are? They never thought that they really were doing their very best and therefore persevered longer and harder.

Don’t just look at yourself as stronger than someone else. Instead, find someone stronger than you and strive to be just as strong or stronger. We never get any stronger by showing off and beating people weaker than us.

This is one of my favorite clips ever. I look at it at least a couple of times a month to remind me to push harder in the gym. What I need to do now is apply it to business.
