It’s really important to understand that grip is one of the most overlooked aspects of a well designed strength training program. And, it must be made a priority for all athletes and for all lifters who are trying to progress in the weight room. As discussed, there are five aspects of grip training; support, crush, pinch, levering, and hand health (dexterity). I’ve written about grip training for over 20 years and even presented at some early NSCA PA State clinics in the early 2000’s.
