Diesel Strength Challenge #2 – 10 Pull-ups with Hold for Time

Diesel Strength Challenge – 10 Pull-ups with Hold for Time

Here is the second Diesel Strength Challenge. Watch the video below and film your submission this week. Make sure you put your best effort forward. You’ll probably want to film a few takes in case one attempt is better than the other.

This was my first attempt and I was rushed for time as you can see from me rushing the intro 🙂

Try it a few times and as always get creative!

I was so blown away from the first Diesel Challenge – Most Push-ups in 1 Minute – that I am expecting big things for this challenge.

Remember, each submission will be voted on by the community. When all of the submissions are posted, cast your vote in the comments section.

Show some personality in the videos and use the best technique possible.

Deadline:

March 5, 2011 – you must have your email to me with the link to the video to info@dieselcrew.com AND provide the duration of your effort in min:sec.

Here Are The Rules:

STEP 1:

Film the challenge.

Rule 1: Must perform FULL range pull-ups
Rule 2: After 10th rep, must hold with your chin above the bar for as long as possible. I understand that the camera angle might be hard to capture this, so it is on the honor system.
Rule 3: Use good form and no kipping of the legs
Rule 4: Submit by 3/5/2011

STEP 2:

Upload to your Youtube channel and use the correct title and keywords:

The title of the Video must be: (copy & paste this)

DieselSC.com – Strength Challenge – 10 Pull-ups With Hold for Time

Keywords should be “diesel strength challenge”

STEP 3:

Submit your video link to info@dieselcrew.com

STEP 4:

After your video is submitted, I will make a post on Diesel and the whole community will vote. They will vote in the comments and that will determine the winner. If there is a tie, I will be the tie breaker.

How to Judge

Judges

Since all of you will be judging all of the submissions, I wanted to give you some criteria to help you choice your picks for each challenge.

PICK ONLY 1 WINNER

1. Who did the challenge the best overall?

2. Who had the best form for the strength exercise?

3. Who showed the most personality?

4. Who gave it their all? (the winner doesn’t have to be the one who did the longest hold for time, it could be the person you think tried their best)

5. Who followed all of the rules the best?

Prize for This Challenge

Looks good, Jim. I can’t participate (don’t ask), but I am enjoying your challenge. It’s a neat idea, and good luck.

I don’t think I can do 10 full pull-ups in a row! I can try my darnest! What would I do then? Do my max then take a pause, continue til 10 and then hold?

    • Posted by - Smitty on February 27, 2011

      Annie,

      DEFINITELY YES!

This is YOUR challenge. You can make it anything you want. My video and demo is just a baseline.

I will answer your question more in detail in a newsletter, because if you have the question, others might too!

Thanks and I look forward to your video!

      Smitty

So glad you guys did a relative strength challenge – I’m uploading a first attempt now – it was done in a public park so OF COURSE some kid and his mom walk up at the last bit and stare while I’m trying to stay above the bar! HAHAHA! May try this again from my friends’ backyard!
