LIVESTRONG.com Fitness Challenge

As many of you know I’m a featured writer for LIVESTRONG.com.  It is a position I am very proud of and I am willing to do whatever I can to be a positive contributor to the site and help them reach their goals.

When they told me about their fitness challenge, I was super excited.  LIVESTRONG.com wants to get the nation fit, one person and one family at a time.

The LIVESTRONG.com Fitness Challenge

The challenge is to be active 30 minutes a day. You can read more about the details on the challenge page and here is the great part… it is FREE to sign-up!! The great thing about the site is that you can track your daily workouts AND daily nutrition.  How cool is that?! I was also told that there are more women signing up for the challenge than men.  We need to get our guys in there and accept this challenge.

Everyone can be fit and it doesn’t take hours a day like most people think.  In fact, I just wrote a new article for LIVESTRONG.com on just how to manage your time and stay fit with a busy lifestyle.

How to Get Real Results

You need to hold yourself accountable.  That way you’ll have ownership of your goals and have a passion to stick with it.  But remember, it will not easy and results only come with consistency.

One way to get support is to do this challenge with all of your friends.  You can start an email distribution to keep in touch and provide support throughout the day.  A group can also be setup on your smart phone to text back and forth with everyone as well.  Another great idea is to start a Facebook page where you go and talk about what happened during the day and what your goals are for the next day.  There is strength in numbers and this challenge is about real change for the rest of your life.

    Hey Smitty – just came across this post at a perfect moment. Working nights and was feeling like I had no energy to train today. Then I watched your 15 min training clip, and it inspired me to go to the gym and have a 15 minute workout instead of sitting on my ass. Not my greatest workout ever, but I got to the gym and did some work. Thank you for inspiring me!
