O Captain, My Captain
O Captain, My Captain

McAllister: “Show me the heart unfettered by foolish dreams and I’ll show you a happy man.”
John Keating: “But only in their dreams can men be truly free. ‘Twas always thus, and always thus will be.”

Do you have a foolish dream?
Do you lay in bed at night thinking about the perfect day while living your dream?
Are you free in your dreams?
When you wake up in the morning have you made any plans to get closer to your dream?
You have to realize that reaching your dream is only one piece of the puzzle.
You MUST understand that while you are fighting, working hard and putting your blood, sweat and tears on the line – you are also inspiring others to dream.
Actions speak louder than words and your actions might be feeding someone else’s dream. You are giving them the strength to continue just one more day, one more minute or one more second.
The world seemed endless when you were a kid and now it might seem narrow and hopeless.
But just as the sun will rise tomorrow, there is always HOPE.
Your dreams give you hope and hope gives you passion and passion gives you drive.
Has someone ever inspired you?
When you were younger?
Has someone ever given you a random act of kindness?
Have you ever witnessed one?
Have you done a random act of kindness for a complete stranger?
What would you feel like if you were the best part of someone’s else day?
Wouldn’t you want to feel that everyday?
Keep fighting for your goals and keep inspiring others to live their dreams.

Thanks Smitty,
Been through the wringer the past few months, and I am getting on my feet and building the life that I want, and I am doing it with all that I have. What I see you doing, and other Men in the industry that I respect, that keeps me going. I look forward to the day when I can be the one that gives that hope and drive to others.
Thanks for this post! I have great big dreams! Professionally, intellectually, and personally. I took up the reigns and decided to forgo my dreams five years ago so that I could stay home and raise my two boys. Best choice I ever made next to marrying my wife. I still compete, but closer to home(for now). I’m glad I did wait because I only recently found you, Zach Even Esh and Elliot Hulse.
I will realize my dream(actually less than a year! That is when my youngest starts school). Until then I will continue to show my sons that you do not measure manhood by the number of beers you can drink, but the number of pounds you can lift!
Every snow storm we go to an elderly couples house and shovel them out. They always want to give us money. Instead we settle for two cookies(one for each of my boys). They love to train with me, eat what I do and do things for others. Sure they expect a cookie, but they will work hard for that cookie.
Great stuff! You keep pumping it out and I will keep dreaming!
Thank you for this post! I always enjoy your motivational and positive pieces like this. YOU have helped inspire me to keep working towards my dream/goal of creating my own training and nutritional consultation business. Thank you for doing what you are doing!
Timely words, my friend.
